Conjuring Up Memories

Oh, the little things that can conjure up sudden, vivid memories!

You hear an old song and remember your first dance. Do you smile? Do you sigh?

You smell cookies baking, and there you are once again in your grandmother’s kitchen.
Do you smile, pick up the phone, and call or text her? Or do you sigh and think how much you miss her?

You are rummaging in the attic or the basement, or through a closet, and suddenly come across an old stuffed toy you thought had been lost years ago… and you see your child… or maybe even yourself…tucked safely into bed holding that toy…. or perhaps crying, clutching that toy.

You smile, you sigh, you place that toy carefully, tenderly on a shelf.

And then there are old photographs… but they are MEANT to conjure up memories.
