Understanding My Cat

Sometimes I know exactly what my cat, who for the purpose of this blog shall be referred to as MyKitty, means when he meows at me. At other times, I don’t have the slightest idea, not even an inkling.

I usually find his non-verbal language easier to understand. For instance, when MyKitty rubs his forehead against me, or blinks his eyes at me, he is expressing affection. A vocal meow followed by the classic “silent meow” is the equivalent of a small child’s “pleeeeese.” [Spelled to approximate the sound.]

Incidentally, I had no idea before I saw today’s daily prompt word that I was going to post about MyKitty…. not even an inkling!
